Re-energise a room with the magic of upcycling

When you take a look around your dining room, what do you see? Is it full of neutral tones or the same shades? Is there the opportunity to add a burst of colour or inject some life into it?

If you responded with a resounding ‘yes!’, British Paints Furniture Paint is the solution.

It’s specially made for personalising or upcycling small furniture items. Not to mention it's cost-effective, easy to apply, and available in a range of fun colours.

Upcycling your table, chair, desk or cabinet

One of the best things about British Paints Furniture Paint is that it can be used to paint pretty much any of your wooden furniture.

This easy-to-apply chalk paint is ideal for giving new life to a dining table, upcycling chairs, or refreshing a desk, cabinet, or other piece. You’re really only limited by your imagination.

So pick a piece that’s blending into the background or is in need of some TLC, and get painting!

Choosing the paint colour for your furniture

There are four chalk paint colours in the Furniture Paint range, but with a little creativity, that number can become unlimited.

That’s because there’s also the option to combine various colours for a totally new shade. Try mixing and matching until you find something you like. Or, use our pre-tinted colours, ready for application straight onto your furniture.

We’ve got Kara Sea, a deep, bold, inky blue. Use it to add a hit of drama to your room.

There’s Forever Peach, which is a rich, deep clay paint. It’ll add cosy and contemporary with its sunset hues.

White goes with just about anything. Enjoy the bright, airy touch it adds.

To make an impression, go for Black Ace. It’s bold and impactful – but, being a neutral, is super versatile.

BONUS TIP: Love Note can be tinted to any white-based British Paints colour!

Flipping it to Fabulous

We might be a little biased, but we think the most fabulous pieces in your dining room have multiple colours.

For example, we’ve used Kara Sea on the legs and frame of this table. We tinted I’m Blue with white for the sky-blue colour of the chairs and bench.

Why not have a bit of fun with it and paint your chair legs a different colour from the rest? Or make the bench seat stand out with a colour unlike the other pieces? If you’re feeling really adventurous, go for a striped pattern or two-toned furniture.

The finishing touches

Finish off your newly painted pieces with a protective coat of varnish. The clear matt paint will aid with durability and longevity.

Place your new piece front and centre of your dining room and enjoy the fresh addition to the room. All it took was a bit of creativity, and some unloved furniture.

You’ll be flipping the rest of your furniture in no time at all!
