DIY Trinket Bowls

Turn your little trinket holders into personalised pieces with this simple DIY project. Pick a colour to go with your colour scheme or a neutral tone to work into any room. These dishes are perfect for those little trinkets from jewellery to coins. 

Step One

Firstly, you’ll need to lay out your tools which will include your paint colour of choice, some newspaper to protect your surfaces, paint brush & water, as well as tape to trace out any patterns.

Step Two

Use the tape to trace out the pattern you want to use on your bowl. For this project, we decided to use different geometric patterns that on each dish. 

Tip: Depending on the material of the bowls, you may need to sand before painting and use an appropriate primer.

Step Three

Once you have finished painting, layout your trays and to allow to dry for 2 hours. Again, this will all depend on the type of surface. Once the first coat is completely dry, apply the second coat. If using left over wall paint for your project, we recommend spraying a Clear Gloss coat of British Paints SprayEasy to protect your handy work.

 Tip: remove the masking tape whilst still wet to not damage your painted lines. These are now ready to use!

Step Four

Style your dishes on your dresser and fill them with your trinkets!
